As a Westminster College alumnus, your continued support is crucial to increasing the value of your degree! We strongly encourage you to make a donation – not only because it will help current students, but also because it will increase the alumni participation rate.

What is a participation rate? It is the percentage of alumni who provide financial contributions to the college during the year. This is a measure of the NUMBER of graduates who give rather than the amount that you give. Even $5 makes an impact!How important is this participation rate to the college?

Why is the alumni participation rate so very important to you and to the college?

•  U.S. News & World Report and other organizations use the alumni participation rate as the ONLY indicator of alumni satisfaction when annual rankings of colleges and universities are published. We know we love Westminster, and through alumni giving, the national rankings prove that we value our Westminster education. As our ranking increases, the value of our degree increases as well.

• Many foundations consider a college’s alumni participation rate when awarding grants. With a low alumni participation rate, Westminster College’s eligibility or qualification for grant monies may be lost.

• Westminster College aspires to national prominence. To achieve that goal, the alumni participation rate must increase to that of similar educational institutions.
  

You Think Your Gift Won't Matter? Think Again!

Currently, Westminster’s alumni participation rate is below the national rate of 12.4 percent.  The Westminster Alumni Board has committed to 100% Board giving this year and challenging everyone of our alumni to "Gimme 5." Leading by example, they are leading the initiative to help raise the participation rate for our entire Westminster College alumni community this year. We can only do this with your help.

Each gift a graduate makes to Westminster counts toward the alumni participation rate, whether it is $5, $25, $100, or $10,000!In addition to increasing the participation rate, each alumni dollar assures that current students (and future alumni) receive the quality education that we all had the opportunity to receive.

Show that you value the education you received at Westminster by contributing. You will raise the participation rate, provide educational value to current students, and get a tax deduction as well!
